BORGHESE GALLERY

In the Borghese Gallery are exhibited 3 paintings by Raphael: the Man Portrait, the Lady with the Unicorn and the Deposition, all these works are from before the Roman period, which began in 1508, the Man Portrait was painted in  1503, the Lady with the Unicorn in 1505 and the famous Borghese Deposition in 1507.

The latter was the central part of the Baglioni Altarpiece (named after the customer).

The predella, in which are depicted the Faith, Charity and Hope, is in the Vatican picture-gallery.

The Deposition is a fundamental work in the artistic development of Raphael, who devoted a great attention to this composition, so much so that were found numerous preparatory drawings;
