PROPHET ISAIAH
In the church of St. Augustine on a pillar of the nave, above the beautiful Holy Family of Andrea Sansovino, in 1511 Raphael painted the prophet Isaiah.
This is believed to be the work of Raphael more inspired to Michelangelo.

The comparison is made with the prophet Ezekiel in the Sistine Chapel, but the similarity appears to be limited to the posture of the legs, |

but if Raphael imitates Michelangelo a little, the extraordinary coloring and the intense face of the prophet are completely inRaphael style. |
Finally, if these differentiations sleep more immediate, more relevant is the different approach: the figure of Isaiah is the focus of Raphael, while Ezekiel is part of a representation in which the decorative aspects are predominant.
