SEBASTIANO DEL PIOMBO

Sebastiano del Piombo (1485 – 1547), was called to Rome by Agostino Chigi “The Magnificent” in 1511 and painted in the loggia of Galatea of the Villa Chigi - Farnesina, the lunettes and Polyphemus.

His other Roman works are the Chapel of the Flagellation of Jesus in San Pietro in Montorio and the altarpiece of the Chigi Chapel in Santa Maria del Popolo, which was  completed by Francesco Salviati.
