LEFT TRANSEPT

In the left transept we see:

the tomb of Cardinal Pietro Stefaneschi, born in Trastevere and died in 1417;

the tomb of Cardinal Filippo D’Alecon, by Giovanni D'Ambrogio, active between the late fourteenth and early fifteenth century.

between the two tombs is aedicule, inside which Jacopo Palma the Younger (1544 - 1628) painted the Martyrdom of St. Philip and St. James, one of his few Roman works.

On the pediment of the monument Valsoldo (Giovanni Antonio Paracca 1545 to 1599), has carved the statues representing Faith and Prudence.

Noteworthy is the ceiling of the transept.
