EXTERIOR
Agostino Chigi commissioned Baldassare Peruzzi the design of his villa.
Baldassarre drew an unusual plant in a horseshoe, which protrudes into the garden, the lush garden, which we can only have a distant idea.
Returning to the horseshoe between the two wings Peruzzi designed a loggia with five arches that opened onto the garden. Here, in the loggia of Psyche, the guests of Agostino, enjoyed the shows that took place in the garden.
Now, to preserve the frescoes, the loggia is protected by large windows, inevitable decision, even if it limits the game empty - full.
If then the guests were stews of Psyche, they could sit in the adjacent Loggia of Galatea, which was also open, hence enjoying the Tiber, to which sloped gardens and maybe move towards the pavilion in which consume a fabulous banquet.
A little service attic, located on the east side of the villa, is on the second floor.
Looking again at the outer sides we see that they are not decorated with marble or columns, but by simple Tuscan pilasters.
Below the cornice there is a frieze in which opens the windows of the servants' quarters.
The exterior was painted, but the cruelty of time has erased almost all traces.
What we see today is unreadable.
