SANT’ANDREA DELLA VALLE

The cycle of paintings for which Sant'Andrea della Valle is famous and has attracted visitors from all over Europe to Rome and today all over the world, are the frescos by Domenichino, who painted the basin and the vault of the apse, the pendentives and by Giovanni Lanfranco the Glory of the Paradise in the dome.

The beautiful pendentives represent the four Evangelists, while in the basin and in the vault of the apse are depicted Stories from the Life of St. Andrew. Finally, among the windows of the apse Domenichino painted the “Virtue”.
