A BIT IN DEEP: BENOZZO GOZZOLI

Benozzo in addition to being a great artist was a prolific painter.

For his artistic training was fundamental the Roman period becouse of the long association with Beato Angelico.

Unfortunately, some of his Roman works have survived only partly, just as in Santa Maria in Aracoeli, where in the chapel of St. Anthony of Padua, entirely frescoed, had remained the only altarpiece, and even fragmentary are the frescoes in the churches of Saints Dominic and Sixtus and Sant'Angelo in Pescheria.
